In collaboration with the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE), Great Lakes Reality Labs (GLRL) developed a virtual experience to teach 10 life skill tasks using Chromebooks and Windows machines. The purpose of the experience is to allow students to practice these tasks in safe, controlled environments.

How to Use This Resource

This document is divided into multiple sections.

Pilot Testing

The "Pilot Testing" section will provide you with information about the pilot testing expectations, schedule, and procedures.


The "Installation" section will help you download, install, and launch the modules for Chromebook and Windows.


To install the experience on a Windows PC, you have two options.
The most convenient method is to use the Steam platform. Steam will handle all installation and updates for you without the need to continuously download new files.
The most direct method is to download the module files.
You will need to pay attention to Google Drive for any updates.


To install the experience on a Chromebook device, you will need to use Google's Play Store.

Task Information

The "Task Information" section will provide you with information about each task, including the storylines, play-through videos, and supplemental materials.


The "Troubleshooting" section will help you fix common issues that users have reported.
